The start of a new adventure!

A wonderful new adventure begins: Mimi’s This and That blog.

An adventure in sharing my love of crafts,  scrapbooking, copic coloring, quilting and sewing. My whole life crafting and sewing has been the way I have expressed my creativity and love of texture, color and fabrics. My very earliest memories are of my Mom and I and her sewing machine. Sitting in her lap at her old brown singer sewing machine, my little hands under hers as we “steered” string quilt squares (strips of fabric onto newspaper squares) through the machine together. I remember vividly a strip on top that was cut from my old pajamas! Fond memories of my first adventures with a sewing machine at four years old. Gotta love it!

Both my lovely daughters caught various crafting bugs through the years and I hope they pass this along to my granddaughters as well. As I build this new blog, learn to post my craft room fun look for: hand made cards, scrapbooking, my copic escapades, sewing projects, crafty goodies of various kinds, some tutorials, some photo journeys through my craft haven and a touch of family info once in awhile.  I hope to share with other like minded crafters that have the bug too!

About JoAnne Freeman

My name is JoAnne Freeman. I am married to my best friend, almost 35 years already! We have three wonderful children and two beautiful grand daughters. I am been sewing since I was five years old, in fact my earliest memory is sitting in my Mom's lap with her hands carefully placed over mine as we sewed a scrap quilt. Sometimes when I am sewing I am struck by how much my hands look like hers. Deja Vu moments. I have been scrapbooking and card making for about 12 years, seriously addicted for about 5 years. I discovered Copic markers about a year ago and have to add this to my other addictions (fabric, digital stamps, ribbon, card stock and scrapbook paper, machine embroidery designs to list a few). I have completed my Copic certification and hope to complete the Intermediate certification in 2012. My excitement with this new blog stems from my delight and enjoyment that I have in following so many of the talented artists that blog out there! I learn everyday, shamelessly watch tutorials and LOVE the outlet that these crafts provide for showcasing the talent out there.
